Spanish and Catalan

[edit]

Spanish materials and Catalan labor? Since Catalonia is part of Spain (or most of it is, at least), wouldn't materials from Catalonia also be Spanish materials, and Catalan workers Spanish workers? What was the intention of this statement? Mats (talk) 08:29, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

True, but Catalonia is considered a separate "nation" within Spain; there is a distinct cultural and linguistic difference between Catalonia and other parts of Spain. See Catalonia for more details. howcheng {chat} 16:30, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Name Translations

[edit]

Just a question: why is the Catalan name italicized but the two given Spanish names bolded--what is the format? To me, it seems to be saying the Spanish names are more correct, which I would assume not to be true, since Barcelona is a Catalan-speaking city. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.44.125.254 (talk) 02:09, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
